Ingredients
- 1 Small Sweet Onion, sliced into 1/4-inch slices (See Notes)
- 2 1/2 Cup Buttermilk
- 1/4 Cup Panko breadcrumbs
- 1/4 Cup Cornmeal
- 2 Tbsp Seasoned bread crumbs
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/4 tsp Granulated garlic
- 1/4 tsp Granulated onion
- 1/4 tsp Dried parsley flakes
- 1/4 tsp Paprika
- 1/16 tsp Black pepper
Instructions
- Separate the onion into rings and place them in a 1-quart bowl with the buttermilk. Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Prepare a small-rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Mix the remaining ingredients in a 1 1/2-quart bowl.
- Dip each soaked onion ring in the crumb mixture, coating well. Place each ring on the pan.
- Spray all the onion rings with oil or cooking spray and sprinkle them lightly with salt.
- Bake 18-20 minutes, until a light brown color. Serve immediately.
Notes
You want to use a sweet onion, not a regular onion, it’s too strong in flavor.
