French Onion Beef & Noodles

Ingredients
- 8 oz. Sirloin steak cut into 3/4" cubes (See Notes)
- 2 Cups Beef broth
- 2 Cups Uncooked egg noodles
- 1 10.5 oz. can Condensed french onion soup
- 1/2 Cup French fried onions
- 1/2 Cup Light sour cream
- 2 Tbsp Cornstarch
- 2 Tbsp Water
- 1 Tbsp Parsley , optional for garnish
- 1/2 Tbsp Neutral oil
- 1/2 tsp Granulated onion
- 1/2 tsp Granulated garlic
- 1/8 tsp Black pepper
- 1/16 tsp Dried thyme
- 1/16 tsp Dried rosemary
Instructions
- Season the meat with onion, garlic, and black pepper. Heat a medium pot over medium-high heat and add the oil. Place the meat in the pot and sear on all sides. This will take 3-5 minutes.
- Add the French Onion soup, beef broth, thyme, and rosemary to the pot with the meat. Reduce the heat to medium and bring to a simmer. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Add uncooked egg noodles and simmer for 8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until noodles are tender.
- In a small bowl, add 2 tablespoons of corn starch to 2 tablespoons of water and stir to make a slurry. Add this to the pot to thicken the sauce, and cook for about 2 minutes.
- Remove the pot from the heat and stir in the sour cream.
- Add 1/4 cup of the French fried onions to each portion and sprinkle with parsley as a garnish.
Notes
We use sirloin steak for this recipe because it cooks quickly. You can use any tender meat you prefer.
