Equipment

Ingredients
  

  • 8 oz. Boneless, skinless chicken breasts , cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 2 Tbsp Minced garlic
  • 1 Tbsp Lemon juice
  • 1/2 Tbsp Olive oil
  • 1/2 Tbsp Tomato paste
  • 1 tsp Lemon zest
  • 1 tsp Smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin
  • 1/4 tsp + 1/8 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Dried oregano
  • 1/8 tsp Dried thyme
  • 1/8 tsp Red pepper flakes
  • 1/16 tsp Ground cinnamon
  • 1/32 tsp Black pepper
  • Lemon wedges , optional for serving

Garlic Yogurt Sauce

  • 1/4 Cup Plain greek yogurt
  • 1 Tbsp Chives, chopped
  • 1 tsp Minced garlic
  • 1/2 tsp Lemon juice
  • 1/16 tsp Lemon zest
  • 1/32 tsp Salt

Instructions
 

  • In a 1-quart re-sealable plastic bag, add oil, garlic, lemon juice, lemon zest, tomato paste, paprika, cumin, oregano, thyme, salt, black pepper, red pepper flakes, and cinnamon. Mix to combine. Add the chicken pieces and mix to coat with the marinade. Press out air and seal the bag. Place in refrigerator for at least 1 hour or up to overnight.
  • Remove the chicken from the marinade and divide evenly among 4 skewers. Discard any remaining marinade.
  • Oil the grill and preheat to 350° – 375℉.
  • Place the skewers on the grill and cook for 2-3 minutes on each of the 4 sides of the chicken skewers. The internal temperature of the chicken should be 165℉ before removing from the grill. Remove and serve immediately with Garlic Yogurt Sauce.

Garlic Yogurt Sauce

  • Combine all Garlic Yogurt Sauce ingredients and refrigerate until ready to use.

Notes

If using wooden skewers, soak for 60 minutes before using.
We like to serve this with a flatbread like Naan or Pita
