When I saw the ingredients for this recipe, I thought, ‘How odd.’ Then I remembered when I had visited my aunt in Oklahoma, she had ordered chili and spaghetti at a restaurant. I showed Bethany, and she wanted to try it, so here we are. This is tasty! All the ingredients come together perfectly for a comforting dish to enjoy.

Equipment

Ingredients

  • 4 oz. 93% Lean ground beef
  • 4 oz. Kielbasa sausage , sliced into 1/4-inch rounds
  • 2 oz. Dry spaghetti , broken into thirds
  • 3/4 Cup Canned petite-cut tomatoes , undrained
  • 1/3 Cup Onion , chopped
  • 1/3 Cup Beef broth
  • 1 Slice Bacon, , trimmed of excess fat, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp Sharp cheddar cheese , shredded
  • 1 Tbsp Tomato paste
  • 1 Tbsp Green onion or chives , sliced for garnish
  • 1 tsp Minced garlic
  • 1 tsp Tabasco sauce
  • 1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/32 tsp Black pepper

Instructions

  • Add chopped bacon to a Dutch oven. Heat on medium-high heat, stirring, for about 3-4 minutes. Add chopped onions and continue to cook for 3-4 minutes.
  • Add the Kielbasa sausage and cook for 3-4 minutes, or until the fat has rendered. Drain the bacon, onion, and Kielbasa mixture.
  • After draining, cook the ground beef in the same pot on medium heat for 3-4 minutes. Drain and place with other meats and onions.
  • In the pot, add the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, black pepper, Tabasco sauce, garlic, canned tomatoes, and tomato sauce. Mix to combine.
  • Add the broken spaghetti to the pot and stir to coat. Cover with the drained meat and onion mixture. Place the lid on the pot and simmer for 18-22 minutes. Stir every 5 minutes and make sure spaghetti is covered to cook completely.
  • Add the shredded cheese. Cover for about a minute to allow the cheese to melt. Garnish with green onions/chives and serve hot.
