Asian Honey Garlic Chicken Kabobs Recipe for Two

Asian Honey Garlic Chicken Kabobs

Equipment
- Gas Grill
- 4 Skewers (See Notes)
- Knives
- Small saucepan
- Silicone basting brush
Ingredients
- 8 oz. Boneless, skinless chicken breasts , cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1/2 Large Onion , cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1/4 Cup Honey
- 2 Tbsp Neutral oil
- 1 Tbsp Minced garlic
- 2 Tbsp Apple cider vinegar
- 2 Tbsp Reduced-sodium soy sauce
- 2 Tbsp Light brown sugar
- 1 Tbsp Cornstarch
- 1 Tbsp Water
- 2 tsp Ginger paste
Instructions
- In a small saucepan over medium-high heat. Add oil, minced garlic, ginger paste, honey, vinegar, soy sauce, brown sugar, cornstarch, and water. Whisking, bring the sauce to a boil, and cook for about a minute, or until it thickens. Remove from heat.
- Reserve 1/4 cup for serving. Place the remaining glaze in a container. You will need a basting brush for glazing the chicken.
- Place chicken and cut onion onto skewers. (See Note) Place 2-3 pieces of the onion, then a piece of chicken. Evenly divide among the 4 skewers. Set aside.
- Oil and preheat the grill to 350°-375℉.
- Place chicken skewers on the pre-heated grill. Flip after 2-3 minutes, glazing the cooked side. Continue until all sides are grilled and glazed. Remove when the chicken’s internal temperature reaches 165 degrees. Discard any leftover glaze.
- Let the chicken rest for 2-3 minutes, covered. Serve with the 1/4 cup reserved glaze for dipping. (2 tablespoons per person).
Notes
If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for at least 60 minutes.
